Our present day struggles often stem from pain experienced in our past. It’s part of the human condition. Since people are hurt in the context of relationships, deeper healing must take place in the context of relationships. Part of my role is to create a space for you to reflect on your past, understand where your troubles are coming from, and work together with you to discover the person you’d like to be in the future.
I consider myself similar to what Irvin Yalom called “a fellow traveler” (The Gift of Therapy). I am not an expert on your life, I am more of an expert in curiosity about your life. I, too, experience the painful limits of humanity. I will walk beside you, be curious about you, and work with you to put the pieces together to help you grow into the person you truly want to be.
A note on fit:
According to a ton of research that’s been done, the greatest indicator of success in therapy is the fit between client and therapist. I check in with clients early and often to see how they’re feeling about the therapy. If at any point we think that another therapist might be a better fit for you, I will help you find someone that can work best to meet your needs.
A few non-work related things about me:
I am a New York native who moved to Texas in 2015 and you may sometimes catch me pronouncing certain words like a true Yankee. I love spending time with my black lab, family and friends. I am actively involved in my church and enjoy exploring outdoor spaces in and around DFW.
